Deadline for Cancellation

The entire examination fee is forfeited if a cancellation is made after the final date for filing for examination (January 4). If a cancellation is made prior to the final filing date, a first-time fee of $250 is charged for administrative costs, subsequent cancellations will be assessed a $500 fee. Notification of a cancellation must be received in writing in the ABP office.

If a candidate is unable to appear for the examination because of illness, consideration will be given to returning a part of the examination fee or transferring it to the next examination, provided that a letter is received from the candidate's attending physician at the time of the illness, indicating that the illness prevented the candidate from appearing at the examination. This information must be received within 60 days of the original test date.

It is the candidate's responsibility to notify the ABP of any change that may affect a scheduled examination.
